Thousands of people mentor kids or help people in some way - and good for him if this is genuine and not just PR to improve his image!

I still don't have to like his pouty old face though. Can't stand him - never have and never will!

GO JETS!

it's easy to get that impression when watching Payton on the field, but when hearing him being interviewed he doesn't seem to come across that way at all

too bad for the Jets though (i usually pull for the underdog as i don't really have a fav NFL team, except maybe Green Bay, who for some reason remind me of my fav bush league team, the Saskatchewan Roughriders - relatively small town, die hard rabid fans who thrive in the elements...)

so, will it be a Payton vs Favre matchup for the big one?

I think so (vikings and colts)...of course, I rooted for Broadway Joe, and his three receivers doing the shaving commercial...

Now Jess, there was a Q-B that I imagine wouldn't be described as "pouty", though there's plenty to critize about him...

I venture to say, Joe was the best at what he did, in spite of the stats, for a very few shining Camelot esque moments. Only Marino had a better "fast arm throw", and only another fav Joe of mine, Montana, had the outcomes, playoff wise, to compete. IMHO.

There, have I upset anyone?

And, with the vikings, there's a lot of history to set right...APage and the rest set the standard for all the D to come, again, IMHO...
